Attending: Brian, JohnH, Sam, Pete, Ste, Jens (chair+mins), Dan, Winnie, Teng, RobC, Duncan 0. OpBP Steve reports Fermilab closing VOMS admin API, thus leading to loss of gridmap file updates. What uses gridmap files these days? At least the failure is "safe" in the sense that the list will remain, it will just not update, so will (obvs) not get new members nor lose members who leave the VO (or are kicked out). Interface closed "due to GDPR" On a practical notes, haven't users consented to their DN being published when they join the VO? Seems a bit over-reacting, as we are not "publishing" the gridmap files, they are being created by authorised services (presumably?) Obviously edg-mkgridmap needs the API, but who needs gridmap files? GridFTP tends to work this way, for historical reasons, even for DPM, and certainly for CASTOR. Because the "safe" alternative is VOMS, which uses the attribute certificate and is asserted by the user actively making the assertion. DIRAC, apparently, also needs the gridmpa file according to Daniela. On a related note, our services should comply with the GEANT Code of Conduct (CoC, or CoCo) https://www.geant.org/uri/Pages/dataprotection-code-of-conduct.aspx 1. Finalising the fwd look We still have some time, since it will mostly be used to support writing a GridPP6 proposal; nevertheless, if the PMB are to have time to read it before meeting Tuesday, it makes sense to get the content in ASAP. 2. Finalising the hack day - and the storage session? This seems to have progressed; the main open topic is the storage session Friday morning. It makes sense to discuss the themes of the forward look document (hereinafter FLD). The FLD has several sections, all of which are relevant of course, but some are more relevant than others. We should cover storage (both middleware and underlying hardware), data access and movement, and catalogues/information. Each of these topics should cover - (a) intro/vision, (b) state of the art, (c) evolution/fwd look and technologies, and (d) time for discussion - suggest panel. Sam will lead a discussion of storage Brian will lead a discussion of data mover/access Teng will lead a discussion of catalogues/info 3. Note no call next week! 4. AOB Daniel hi DP Brian does my mic work now BD no and hi dan :-) Brian where is message thread BD CASTOR needs the gridmap file though Samuel https://argus-documentation.readthedocs.io/en/stable/misc/grid_map_file.html SC Brian Is this not a question for FNAL. How as the VOMS provider for DUNE do they expect systems to find out who is and isn't in their VO that's because Castor was never made to be VOMS aware. still , is the issue is that FNAL believe their not allowed to tell people who are in the VO? they're* EXACTLY! BD Samuel https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zH-R9si2JUhrjHqk7rWKqWSp_BVDV61ql1KvZUj1wbM/edit?ts=5b3deb18 SC Brian Is gridftp really dead? since some user comunities may want to use globus connect and so will need gsiftp endpoints? so it should n't necessarilly be red.. BD Samuel It's dead for WLCG, though, in the HL-LHC timescale, Brian SC Brian a "conversion fund" of sort yes BD Robert yes RA Brian panel? how to run storage with no bdii yes BD Daniel This Lustre meeting may be of interest to some people. https://www.eofs.eu/events/lad18.
