Attending: Jens (chair+mins), Steve, John B, Marcus, John H, Ewan, Duncan, Brian, David, Gareth, Raul, Winnie Apologies: Tom, Sam 0. Operational blog posts We only have two blog posts for this quarter, so it'd be good to have some more. Please feel inspired to write something interesting! No operational issues reported. 1. Update on the Great ATLAS Arkleseizure Progressing. SE reporting doesn't help, though, as lcg-infosites seems to use data queried from the SRM endpoints(?) and the BDII may be different. There may be other space tokens that are not needed, or some that are set up "locally", e.g. RALPP. However, for the ATLAS data, RUCIO doesn't reference the data in PRODDISK and other unwanted space tokens, so it is genuinely safe for sites to delete it. 2. Update on "smallish" VOs - perhaps LSST, DiRAC For LSST, Alessandra is still working on it. Marcus expects status will be discussed at meeting shortly, perhaps tomorrow. For DiRAC, there have been discussions about how to restart the backups. One option is to use tar by itself, relying on built in features to split "tapes" (i.e. tarballs) and to do incremental backups. This was Sam's original suggestion. Jens's suggestion was to use find -newer to generate a filelist and use some simple wrapper to glob up files into independent tarballs, to guarantee their being individually untarrable. Also, a person at RAL has a backup script which may be useful, although it currently depends on an Amanda client. Instructions for this could be added to the GridPP wiki. Need feedback from DiRAC. Leicester also about to start. 3. syncat stuff? John H had completed his filesystem dump 10 days ago and is still waiting for ATLAS to have a look and see if it is good. Brian will raise at the ATLAS meeting tomorrow. Unlike Glasgow, it took only 10-15 mins for three space tokens. 4. T2C/D testing stuff? No testing done yet but everything should be "almost ready", still needs some parameter tweaking . Decided not to pursue CMS till the new year and focus on ATLAS, as reported earlier, but still no testing done with/by ATLAS, so this should be raised tomorrow at the ATLAs UK meeting. 5. DOLM - we are expecting to meet on the 23rd? No. So next week's meeting (16th) will be the last of the year. So we should talk about anything that we need to talk about before the end of the year, and hopefully Sam will give a summary of the DPM workshop as well, of course. $. There is a GDB today with a summary session of the GDB workshop, if you want to listen in: http://indico.cern.ch/event/319754/ http://indico.cern.ch/event/319828/ Ewan Mac Mahon: (09/12/2015 10:07:43) For the record, the ATLASPRODDISK at Oxford has (just) ceased to exist. Marcus: (10:14 AM) ok, thanks! Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:17 AM) Hmm. It strikes me that we should probably have a summary page on the wiki pointing to and giving a summary of our various mailing lists; as far as I can see we don't have one. I might start one. Marcus: (10:19 AM) That would be very helpful Jens Jensen: (10:20 AM) Or maybe on Tom's new pages Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:25 AM) Not really. Marcus: (10:25 AM) I'll not be here on 23rd, too Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:25 AM) This does also have an impact on ATLAS T2C testing - at some point we're going to hit the christmas event horizon and it's just going to be simpler/easier/probably faster to just leave it. Paige Winslowe Lacesso: (10:26 AM) Jens you audio+video are freezing now&the Jens Jensen: (10:26 AM) ?
