hi Jens, Today's meeting mostly involved some discussion of the DiRAC (and other small VOs) use of FTS and how we can make things nicer. (Specifically, we were talking about the many files and the renewing proxies issues.) Raja and Ewan noted that rucio and DIRAC already do this for ATLAS,LHCb so we could look at them. Obviously, we already have a hosted DIRAC service at Imperial. Action on probably Brian + me to actually try to use DIRAC for stuff like this. Raja also brought up an issue with IN2P3's dual-stack (IPv4/6) dCache which apparently broke LHCb transfers via xrootd. It's not clear to me if this is a generic Xrootd issue or just one with the dCache implementation. We also discussed some issues with the accuracy of DPM database records, after Ewan discovered some potentially iffy inaccuracies in his (possibly it thinks a lot of files exist which don't). He's going to try a run of Andrey's dpm-dbchk against it. Brian and I also discussed the best way to make ATLAS SE dumps available for ATLAS's new requirement in T2s (action: me to tell people how do to this, poss. with script provided) Chat log attached: Paige Winslowe Lacesso: (29/07/2015 10:04) Can't hear anything, in theory this meeting starts at 09:50, has it been going on & I just have 0 sound? Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (10:05 AM) This meeting actually starts at 10am :) Paige Winslowe Lacesso: (10:05 AM) Blow me down. Wonder why thot 09:50!! Oh, I know why - in Indico it's said to be 09:50 to 11:00 Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:14 AM) So, how hard is it to deploy rucio, anyway. Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (10:19 AM) http://diracgrid.org/files/docs/AdministratorGuide/Systems/DataManagement/index.html (for example) http://diracgrid.org/files/docs/UserGuide/CommandReference/DataManagement/index.html for CLI stuff Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:21 AM) I think that sounds like an OK plan? Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (10:22 AM) http://diracgrid.org/files/docs/UserGuide/CommandReference/DataManagement/dirac-dms-create-replication-request.html seems to be the DIRAC thing for replication management (but it looks like DIRAC needs a full SRM endpoint to use FTS? According to the docs.) Raja Nandakumar: (10:25 AM) DCache (version 2.10.32) is "xrootd4j 1.3.5" Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:26 AM) Also as a general principle it would be good to have as many details as possible dumped onto the hepix IPv6 list, which has some people with dcache on it. Two of us use dcache. Raja Nandakumar: (10:27 AM) I suppose I leave it to the dCache / IN2P3 guys to actually give the details, but will be happy to raise it in the next ipv6 meeting. Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:29 AM) Sure, I think it might be worth suggesting to the IP2P3 people that they should report it to the hepix list, but if anyone's going to it certainly should be them. Raja Nandakumar: (10:32 AM) Yes - it has been suggested to them :) Ewan Mac Mahon: (10:38 AM) select SUM(filesize) from Cns_file_metadata where gid IN (SELECT gid from Cns_groupinfo where groupname like "atlas%"); Tom Whyntie: (10:43 AM) Thanks, bye
