Present: Wahid Stephen, John, Mark Sam, Gareth, David Matt Alessandra Govind Chris Ewan TEG feedback - for each area, principles will be identified. "Federation" - single data access, multiple copies of files, but with resilient failover. Pre-placement of data, however, will not be going away. Experiment outline of requirements, possibly meeting them with something other than SRM, e.g. for a small T2 providing a GridFTP endpoint. Non-LHC VOs not represented at meetings, but not forgotten - while not the focus of the group. Sites will need to support both. Eg CVMFS could be adapted to support small VOs? SRM provides space management, and bringonline. GridFTP vs HTTP - (and xroot) - the need for standards. 3rd party transfer needs retesting. Support in FTS. FTS is being used to change space for files. (Like T2K in Lancaster, cleaned up files too, 16TB). Also WebDAV need testing. StoRM supports HTTPS but not WebDAV. Diagram - layers of responsibility (Brian Bockelman). Need to define this. Very strong statement of support for DPM for CERN. DPM workshop at CERN 27 Feb. NFS in StoRM, based on something called Ganesha, tested at ASGC. Meeting closed as Jens needed to get back to another meeting and Alessandra and Chris wanted to go to the NGS Shibboleth seminar. Tokens still unused. [10:18:55] Ewan Mac Mahon I think it sounds like we really should push ahead with this process rather than waiting any longer for the spacetokeniser tool. [10:19:22] Ewan Mac Mahon We really need to get the t2k folks involved, either by email or next week's meeting. [10:20:38] Matthew Doidge I have a running thread with Jon, I'll drop a request for an audience into our conversation [10:21:46] Ewan Mac Mahon If you've got a StoRM/filesystem type SE why can't you just use a normal web server over it? Why does StoRM have to do the http/webdav bits? [10:22:26] Ewan Mac Mahon For read-only, it wouldn't be too bad, surely. [10:22:47] Ewan Mac Mahon It should be just the same as read-only posix access direct from a worker node. [10:22:49] Ewan Mac Mahon No? [10:22:57] Sam Skipsey Yes, I think so, Ewan.
