Present: Edinburgh: Wahid RAL: Brian, Jens Glasgow: Sam Pols: QMUL: Chris (and by extension everybody who is in the other meeting) "Clean up the wiki" Follow up with Pheno? Grumpiness nothing to do with storage, more with jobs and stuff. Moving files into space tokens for T2K in DPM: messing with database might be risky. May not require taking DPM offline, but there were some complication. T2K are using space tokens at the moment, but the issue is with old data not in space tokens. Closed a few older actions which were completed. hepsysman: sites looking into benefits of 10Gb backbone. Dell switch with 24 10Gig ports(?) which smaller sites could use as a hub; larger sites could use multiple sites. Sites to group together to get group discount... which is interesting because now everybody is trying to wrap up stuff for the end of the FY. Previously everybody was on different procurement cycles. Recommendation to interleave storage and WNs in stacks. Storage TEG - kickoff meeting yesterday. Main concern was overlap with data management TEG which is being run by Brian Bockelman and Dirk Duelmann. Started looking at issues. Would like to have a regular view from the GridPP storage group. Planning on fortnightly meetings. Need for more blog posts. Sam wants to write more about unbalanced storage. Need to fill with Real Content(tm) but also not many people are currently reading it - we should start putting stuff back in and see if the readers come back... The need for a targeted DPM drain? J.-P. felt this wasn't his priority and if you would like to code it yourself... but maybe you can work around it, which is one of the things Sam is looking at. Next "milestones" - Argus deployment is the only other thing in the plan (apart from the delayed milestones of NFS4 testing and extended Dave study which are currently red :-) Suggested EMI upgrade : DPM doesn't need to wait for 1.8.2 (or 1.8.3). dCache is already EMI release. For StoRM, Chris is ahead of the curve already; remaining sites are Bristol and ECDF. Proposing target date at end of Feb. Need to be ready before data taking starts again. For DPM, proposing end Feb likewise - will have to be upgraded by April. Includes database changes. Wahid "volunteered" to Ricardo to test upgrade non-EMI to EMI without upgrading the OS. There may be different upgrade paths.
